When you see or hear the word “design” you immediately think it applies to visual arts, don’t you? It is much more than that. We design elegant solutions to your problems.

Web Design

If your customers have to navigate endlessly through your website just to find what they’re looking for, you have a problem: You’re missing out on conversions. Consequently, you’re missing out on valuable sales. Good web design demands the three following principles take precedent before anything else, yet most companies overlook them altogether, settling for either a pre-made theme or template. We demand more from our designers. In addition to information architecture, user experience, and responsiveness, Rust Creative consistently engineers websites with the future in mind. A well-designed website combines the use of form (design) and function (development). These websites were recently Designed by Rust Creative.

  • Information Architecture
focuses on organizing, structuring, and labeling content in an effective and sustainable way. The goal is to help users find information and complete tasks. To do this, you need to understand how the pieces fit together to create the larger picture, how items relate to each other within the system. Since there are so many pieces that need to fit together, we start by building databases, sketching frameworks, and navigating through needed information or less valuable information. We want to display the best information first!
  • User Experience
User experience is the overall experience of a person using your website, especially in terms of how easy or pleasing it is to use. If you have popups, wonky navigation, or images that are not optimized for mobile (to name a few), then you’re giving your customers a poor user experience. User experience is dynamic as it is constantly modified over time due to changing usage circumstances and changes to individual systems as well as the wider usage context in which they can be found. While your competitors are losing out on sales because it takes forever to fumble a thumb over a mobile link, you’ve already sold double the amount.
  • Responsive Design
Mobile usage is on the rise. In a short amount of time, the majority of your users will be viewing your website on a mobile device. Google rewards mobile, responsive sites with higher search rankings. If you aren’t responsive, you aren’t found. Either move to responsive now, or pay the penalty later!

Print Design

Rust Creative was founded as a design studio. Designing posters, brochures, advertisements and other print media has been our bread and butter. We make informed design decisions, and don’t sleep until we do. (We love Neil Young too, hence our motto, “Rust Never Sleeps.”)

  • Logo & Branding
Whatever you do, don’t try to design your own logo. There are rules. If you sell pipes and your brand name is PipeMan, don’t do the obvious – or do the obvious! – just let us decide for you. While you may want to do it yourself, let the experts!
  • Advertisements
We design print and digital advertisements for the majority of our clients. A good advertisement has quality copywriting, catchy design, and a great tagline.
  • Posters
We design posters for bands, nonprofits, and, well, anybody that needs a poster. Poster design is one of our favorite assignments.
  • Menus
Like information architecture, assembling a menu a customer can read and navigate easily is an art form. As a result, you’ll be turning tables over faster and cashing more checks.
  • Brochures
Do you have information that will help you sell more to customers? Probably. Informative and catchy, the brochure is a handy marketing tool for tradeshows and more.
  • Album Packaging
You’ve worked hard to write and record an album. Don’t sell it to your fans without artwork and packaging that that re-emphasizes the message in your album. As a result, you’re album will end up being used as a coaster. We’ve designed hundreds of albums for independent artists.

Design is a process of finding elegant solutions to difficult problems. We’re determined to solving those problems. We see this as a process and a partnership. We need to work together. When we work together we accomplish something lasting. Working together doesn’t mean that we agree with everything you say and you shouldn’t agree with everything we say. We trust that you are an expert in what you do, and you trust that we are experts in what we do.

Talk to us. Don’t hire a company without speaking to them. We’ll be spending months together. We’ll have differing ideas on how to achieve your goals. If you ask us to do something, we’re going to ask why. Trust, respect, and mutual understanding helps achieve goals. We’re working with you, not for you. Having difficult conversations now will save time later. We’re going to challenge each other.

We will research every aspect of the business until we understand it, study it, and find the best solution. This means we need to talk to you, your customers, and employees. Once we understand the problem together, we can design solutions for it. Every hour spent on research saves twenty hours down the road. Once we find the problem, we design a solution for it. If you can’t stomach paying somebody with experience and knowledge to research, diagnose problems, and find solutions for those problems, we’re not the right company for you.

If an agency walks into your office with ideas, they’re idiots. Plain and simple. We make educated decisions based on research, experience, and quantifiable input. While you are gaining more customers, we design & develop, launch, and, finally, receive the data.
